Roadmap

What’s next, kept honest.

Three columns. Now is shipping this week. Next is queued for the next four to six weeks. Lateris where direction is real and timing is fuzzy. We don’t commit to dates we can’t hit.

Now

In flight today.

Active work happening this week. Verifiable in the changelog or on the kiosk inside days.

  • Allergen display, layer 1

Per-item editor for the nine allergens California SB 68 requires on digital menus. Inline chips on every item card. Filter on the menu sidebar.

California SB 68 takes effect July 1.

  • Portable Pink real-user verification

Every flow walked cold-start on a real iPad — customer order, admin passcode, web-admin override propagating in under two seconds, offline order recovering after reconnect.

  • Sentry release tagging on the iPad

DSN wiring so iPad crashes land in the same Sentry org with merchant + device + release context the web admin already has.

  • iOS 26 SDK build for App Store

Carafe builds against the iOS / iPadOS 26 SDK with backwards-compatibility opted in until the Liquid Glass redesign ships separately.

Apple deadline: April 28 for App Store submissions.

  • Admin passcode hardening

Triple-tap + passcode gate on the iPad admin tightened — entry, retry, lockout, and recovery paths re-verified end to end.

Next

Queued for the next four to six weeks.

Specced and ready. Waiting on the current work to land or on a small external unblock.

  • Allergen display, layers 2 + 3

Per-order declaration prompt for high-risk items + bold allergen blocks on every kitchen ticket. The full SB 68 surface, ahead of the deadline.

  • Device-JWT realtime swap

Every iPad uses a per-device JWT for realtime instead of the project anon key. Tightens the security model from obscurity-on-a-UUID to a proper authenticated channel.

  • Live mirror, stage two

The KioskMirror Broadcast path verifies on real hardware. We drop the legacy postgres_changes subscription and the mirror runs on a single channel that scales past every merchant we expect to onboard this year.

  • Dedicated Order June Supabase project cutover

Move from the shared project to a dedicated one. Migrations are already portable. Cutover is a one-event environment swap with rollback ready.

  • Spanish completion across the admin

The bilingual infrastructure exists in the iPad app. Mechanical pass to wrap every remaining string in the admin so EN/ES is end-to-end.

Later

Further out.

Real direction, less precise timing. Honest about what we’re still designing.

  • Multi-merchant fleet view

For operators running multiple brands or multiple cities. Single sign-in, switch between merchants, see every kiosk in every location at a glance.

  • Dedicated multi-team design overhaul

A focused design pass on color, modifier shapes, chevron treatment, and animation polish. Queued as its own session — not patched piece by piece.

  • Deeper analytics + cohorting

Repeat-customer cohorts, hour-by-day heatmaps, modifier attach-rates per item, comp insights without leaving the admin.

  • Liquid Glass iPad redesign

When iPadOS 26's design language settles, a real visual pass on the kiosk — full Liquid Glass with custom motion, not the compatibility layer we’re shipping for the SDK deadline.

  • More integrations

Loyalty platforms beyond Square Loyalty, accounting exports, scheduling apps. Driven by what merchants ask for once they’re running.

How this list changes.

Items move left as they get closer to shipping — Later becomes Next becomes Now becomes a line on the changelog. If something disappears, it’s because we changed our mind and don’t want to leave it sitting here. We’d rather cut a stale item than carry it for show.

See what’s already shipping.

Walk through the customer flow, run the admin from your phone, edit a price and watch a real kiosk reflect it.
